Uniting Mind, Body, Spirit with the breath of the Sea
At Kure Beach Yoga we strive to make yoga accessible for all physically and financially. Our classes are held either on the beach just north of the Pier, on the stage at the Oceanfront Park or inside the clean & modern Kure Beach Community Center, located just one block from the Atlantic Ocean. We’re also just a short drive or bike ride from Carolina Beach, NC. Whether your an Island local or visiting our beautiful beaches on Pleasure Island, we’d love to have you join us for a class. With new covid-19 standards, we now require pre-registration for all of our classes. This is managed via class ticket sales on Eventbrite. We update our schedule weekly and post on our Facebook page. All are welcome!
Our classes are held on the beach, at the Oceanfront Park stage or in the Kure Beach Community Center (check when you sign up for a class), are an hour long and require Pre-registration.

Vinyasa and Slow Flow classes connect movement with breath. Well balanced classes with a variety of postures and playlists. Go with the flow! Options are provided for all levels of students both beginners and advanced.
Gentle Yoga is perfect for the beginner, Seniors or those just wanting to slow it all down. Pay what you can or use your punch card (Mondays 6:30pm)
Yoga for Resilience blends yin, hatha and restorative styles into an hour of strengthening, stretching and balancing bliss. This class will calm the mind while building strength and flexibility.
Reggae Flow is an hour of creative vinyasa flow set to awesome reggae music. If you’re looking for a mid week pick me up with head to toe stretches and a little bit of a sweat-this ones for you. (Wednesday 6:30pm)
Stretch and Restore will have you feeling like you just had a full body massage at a fraction of the price. A great class for beginners and a wonderful compliment to your vinyasa practice. This class is like a much needed pause button. Just relax and breathe. Available online with Paula.

Carla is known for her laid back and inspirational style of teaching that encourages personal expression through energetic connection and creative movement. She has over 25 years of yoga experience including certifications in Samdhaana Yoga and Yoga for Trauma (Yoga Warriors International). Her classes are meant to hold space and inspire one to move in a way that is safe and also satisfying, whether that is taking a modification or reaching for more
depth in a posture. She is the founder of Kure Beach Yoga.
Kim Gargiulo has been teaching yoga classes for over 12 years. She enjoys teaching and practicing vinyasa yoga where each pose organically flows into the next, incorporating breath with movement. Poses are held to increase strength and flexibility. She has taught students of all ages from 80 years to three months old. Her yoga class is energizing, challenging and invigorating with the goal of leaving students feeling relaxed and centered - fitting for beginners as well as experienced practitioners. The overarching goal of yoga, to Kim, is to unite the body, mind and spirit. She hopes that each student will have the experience of unity at some point during her class.
Paula is a Registered Nurse, Mindfulness Educator and Registered Yoga Teacher holding specialty certifications in Restorative Yoga, Mindful Yoga, Yin Yoga and Prenatal Yoga. Paula is an Adjunct Faculty Member with Department of Physical Medicine and Rehab at UNC Chapel Hill where she teaches Mindfulness Courses with the UNC Program on Integrative Medicine.
Yoga has been part of Marla’s life for about 14 years now and there are many reasons why she continues to practice. Marla says that “aside of the many health benefits, practicing yoga allows me to connect to who I am and be present not only on my mat, but to myself and others. With the responsibility of my full time job and being a mother of two teenagers, I find that each yoga class slows me down and reconnects me to what is important.” Marla recently completed her certification to teach Samdhaana yoga and is Registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200). She is also received her Reiki Certification in 2015 (level III), crediting her yoga practice for introducing her to the body’s 7 main energy centers or “chakras” which led her to the healing practice of Reiki or “Universal Life-Force Energy“. Marla’s classes are laid back, soulful and offer the student a chance to set aside ego and just be.
A little over 10 years ago, Kristin found her practice of yoga, searching for a connection of mind, body and spirit. From being a a dancer in her youth, gravitating to gyms as an adult, she found something more grounding was calling to her. While raising two children, working and traveling, she has continued to feel the urge to grow within her practice. She found Kure Beach Yoga a few years ago and knew this would be the place to start her yoga teaching journey. Kristin says “I find inspiration through community and all stages of yogis are welcome to join me on the mat. Let’s flow and have some fun!” Kristin completed her Samdhaana Yoga teacher training and is registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200). Her classes offer a comfortable flow for all and a space that is nurturing and authentic. D
Megan has been practicing the many styles of yoga for over 13 years. She believes it is an essential tool in building physical strength and mental awareness. Yoga fosters this connection of mind, body and spirit, connecting us to our own truths and assists with continuing our life’s path.
Megan says “My hope in teaching is to offer a comfortable and safe space where you can let go of expectation, get into the body, create space and mobility and reconnect to the essence of you! I want you to feel energized, achieve your potential and just feel good!” Megan completed her Samdhanna Yoga teacher training and is registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200). Her classes are purposeful, peaceful and introspective.
